Gulistan Carpet Works for a Greener Planet

Indoor Air Quality

Our voluntary participation in The Green Label Plus program is an example of our commitment to put forth practices that are environmentally responsible and to continue to develop ways to minimize any adverse effects on indoor air quality.

Consumers can participate and carry this environmental responsibility into their own homes by practicing proper ventilation and proper cleaning, which are the keys to good indoor air quality.

Indoor Air Quality - Green Label +Plus Certification

Gulistan participates in the Carpet and Rug Institute’s Green Label +Plus Certification program which identifies carpets that meet stringent criteria for low chemical emissions and has established the highest standard for indoor air quality ever set by the carpet industry.

All Gulistan styles meet the criteria for the CRI Indoor Air Quality Green Label +Plus Program and are certified through the program with the IAQ certification numbers as listed:

  • Nylon styles GLP4878
  • Nylon solution-dyed styles GLP1753
  • Polyester styles 13836078

Note: We do not put the green label on our samples for aesthetic reasons.

Certification Standard:

To receive Green Label Plus certification, carpet must undergo a 14-day testing process, as required by Section 01350 guidelines that measures emissions for a range of chemicals and is administered by an independent laboratory. The test methodology was developed in cooperation with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
