Gulistan Carpet Works for a Greener Planet

     Gulistan Recycles over 3,800,000 pounds of

material every year, including:

• 100 percent of nylon hard waste
• 100 percent of soft waste
• 100 percent of cardboard waste
• 100 percent of Latex waste and wash water
• 100 percent of metal waste
• 100 percent of plastic wrapping and waste water used in manufacturing
• Batteries and printer cartridges

 Gulistan reduces energy consumption:

• Burning renewable material in a bio-mass boiler at our yarn dye plant to produce sustainable, carbon-neutral energy, replacing dependence on 750,000 gallons of fuel oil annually
• Installing in 2007 a multiple installation of energy efficient low mass, water tube boiler system that produces steam for our carpet dye plant using 80% of the energy of traditional boilers, reducing our demand for natural gas by 21,889,400 cubic feet.
• Using energy-efficient lighting, reducing electricity usage by 25,480 Kwh annually.
